Nissan sells its Russia business for just 1 Euro

Japanese automaker Nissan has decided to shut shop in Russia. The brand had to sell its business for just 1 Euro to state-owned entity NAMI, suffering a $687 million loss. The Russia Ukraine war forced the brand to halt operations at its St Petersberg plant in March and hasn’t been able to commence operations since. Nissan becomes the latest global entity to exit Russia amidst the war situation with talks of sister firm Mitsubishi following suits doing rounds. 

Stellantis Middle East has a new Group Managing Director

Leading automaker Stellantis has appointed Frano Šušnjara as the new Group Managing Director for the region. Šušnjara boasts a resume of two decades of experience in roles like sales, marketing and network management in European and South American markets. The new appointee will promote the brand’s Dare Forward 2030 strategy, which sees the regional product line-up get electrified by 2025 and look to achieve 25% to over 70% regional production autonomy.
