BMW M4 Competition Coupe ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ launched in India

It gets cosmetic upgrades comprising M-spec elements both inside and outside of the car

Celebrations galore in the BMW camp as the German car brand commemorates the 50th anniversary of its performance division, called the BMW Motorsport GmbH or more commonly known as BMW M. The last few months saw the brand launch the ’50 Jahre M Edition’ for its 3 series, 5 series and 6 series sedans. And now, the same celebratory treatment gets extended to the brand’s sports coupe – the M4 Competition Coupe.

From the planned ten special ’50 Jahre M Edition’ models announced for the year, the M4 Competition Coupe ’50 Jahre M Edition’ comprises the fourth launch of the lot. BMW claims the Jahre M Edition sports coupe will be sold in limited units, with each unit retailing at INR 1.52 crores.

Being a full-blown BMW M sports coupe, this limited-edition M4 boasts adaptive M-specific suspension, M sport differential, M xDrive capabilities, and M-spec brakes. The wheels are 19/20-inch double-spoke alloys finished in Orbit Grey and Gold Bronze shades. Further customisation can be made by ticking against optional features such as an M Performance steering wheel in carbon fibre or Alcantara and carbon-fibre exhaust accents, among others.

Mechanically, the M4 Competition Coupe ’50 Jahre M Edition’ remains unchanged from the standard car, priced at INR 1.43 crores. It continues to be powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine good for 510hp and 650Nm torques, allowing the M4 to run the 0-100kph sprint in 3.5 seconds.

Yeah, even the wheels. They’re said to appear silver when viewed head-on and black when viewed from the sides
