Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Arrives In India

Marks an end to the Aventador and Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated V12 engine

The last Lamborghini to launch in India was the Huracan STO – the most aggressive, track-focussed variant of the baby Lamborghini yet. The only way to top it off is to introduce something even more powerful and outrageous, and Lamborghini is never short on outrageousness. Enter, the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae is the most powerful Aventador ever and the Aventador’s final hurrah. This limited-edition Aventador will mark the end of Lamborghini’s flagship supercar for the past decade. Lamborghini will retail this Aventador in Coupe and Roadster body styles with global production numbers limited to 350 and 250 units, respectively.

The successor to the Aventador will carry a V12 engine but with electrical assistance, making the Aventador Ultimae the final Lamborghini model to be powered by a pure V12 internal combustion engine. A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine resides behind the cabin to put out 780hp, 10hp more than the preceding SVJ variant and 90hp more than the standard Aventador released a decade ago. 0-100kph comes up in 2.8seconds, and the Ultimae will keep accelerating until its top speed of 355kph, making it the fastest Lamborghini ever.

The Aventador Ultimae gets based around the already bonkers SVJ variant so it benefits from features such as four-wheel-steering, all-wheel-drive and active suspension for a dynamic driving experience. It gets built on the same carbon fibre monocoque chassis, with the body also made of carbon fibre. Thanks to the lightweight material, the Ultimae tips the weight scales at just 1525kgs, with the convertible Roadster variant adding another 25kgs.

The Lamborghini Aventador is no affordable supercar, yet the Ultimae would rack up as an excellent investment. Considered as the swansong to one of Lamborghini’s most successful flagship models, with a limited production, the Ultimae offers not just the best of the Aventador but the best of Lamborghini with its naturally aspirated V12 being made to bow out with it.
