The Bugatti La Voiture Noire leads a Supercar Owners Circle drive across Croatia

A host of exclusive Bugatti hypercars comprise the drive convoy, including a Divo and a Centodieci

The weekend of September 3rd to 5th last month must’ve been a weekend to remember for Croatian residents. The Supercar Owners Circle (SOC) gathered the most exclusive hypercars, passionate collectors and even car manufacturers for an epic road trip across this European country.

While the usual crowd of Lamborghinis and Porsches were present, a host of exclusive one-off Bugattis outshined the others. Topping the list was the one-of-one Bugatti La Voiture Noire. Built as a tribute to one of the most iconic Bugattis ever made, the Type 57 SC Atlantic, the La Voiture Noire headed the pack for Bugatti, followed by a host of other exclusive models from the French carmaker.

Other Bugattis such as the first Centodieci2, Divo3, Chiron Super Sport 300+4, Chiron Super Sport5, Chiron L’Ébé comprised the hyper sports cars convoy. Even a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition was in attendance.

The trip saw the hypercar convoy drive through the winding roads of the Sljeme mountain region along with the areas of Zagreb. Cars like the Divo and Chiron Pur Sport, devised with superior downforce and agility attributes, would’ve felt right at home along these bending tarmac tracks.

The scenic drive was followed by an exhibition stop at the city centre. Stationed to be showcased to the public, thousands of interested parties gathered to admire the features of the Chiron L’Ébé and the Centodieci hypercars. While the former was built as an honorary commemoration to Ettore Bugatti’s daughter, the latter squared off as a tribute to the legendary EB110.

The next morning witnessed owners of these Bugatti hypercars test the limit of their performance machines at a closed airstrip at ZTC Velika Gorica. The new 8.0-litre W16 engine, found in all modern Bugattis, including the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition, was fully utilised.

The drive tour ended with a trip across the Adriatic coast town of Sibenik, a distance of around 400kms. Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, commented: “It is a great honor for me to welcome the Supercar Owners Circle to my home country for the second year in a row. Our customers have shown how much they care about the Bugatti brand by sharing their extremely rare vehicles with the enthusiastic Croatian audience. This is entirely in the spirit of Ettore Bugatti, for whom every automobile that leaves our studio – even if it is absolutely unique – can and should be driven, and which is able to cover long distances over 1,000 kilometers comfortably – be it to reach record speeds on a closed route or to cope with winding mountain roads.”
