Bentley releases a limited edition Bentayga Odyssean Edition

Limited to 70 units and features a three-colour palette cabin

Electrification and sustainability – two attributes one can expect to feature in most of the upcoming new cars. The newly launched limited-edition Bentley Bentayga Odyssean Edition is no different. Restricted to 70 units worldwide, the Bentayga Odyssean Edition combines a hybrid powertrain under the bonnet with sustainable materials inside the cabin.

Bentley deploys a V6 hybrid powertrain in the Bentayga Odyssean Edition. The hybrid setup comprises an electric motor and a new and improved 18.0 kWh battery with a claimed EV-only range of at least 28 miles (45 km). The engine is a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI unit clubbed to a 100kWh electric motor, producing a combined output of 456bhp. The power can propel the Bentayga from zero to 100kph in 5.3 sec with a 254kph top speed.

Another unique addition to the Bentayga is the Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Accelerator Pedal. Apart from providing feedback to the driver, the pedal is designed with a pressure point that separates pure electric and hybrid power. Bentley says the pedal will vibrate when approaching a junction or speed limit decrease, advising the driver to lift off the throttle to allow maximum opportunity for regeneration. The haptic feedback on the throttle pedal will influence the driver to stay in EV mode for longer for maximum efficiency.

The refined efficiency will perfectly complement the luxurious interiors of the Bentayga Odyssean Edition. The cabin is brimmed with the most opulent materials, such as open-pore Koa veneer for the centre console with 90% less lacquer to allow the occupants to enjoy the texture and aesthetics of the wood. Piano Linen veneer adorns the fascias and waist rails, while the interior benefits from a dedicated three-colour leather scheme. Panels get covered in tweed made from 100% British wool, especially for Bentley.

Apart from the soft Autumn hide and light Linen hide, customers can choose from five specifications that utilise Beluga, Porpoise, Cricket ball, Brunel or Burnt Oak leather. This allows the cabin to boast a unique three-colour palette – a first for the second-generation Bentayga. Odyssean Edition tread plates match the badges on the D-pillar.

The exterior sees no extra additions except unique 22” wheels with Pale Brodgar accents. Bentley will offer a curated exterior palette of six colours for the Odyssean Edition that harmonises with the Pale Brodgar accents; however, the full Bentley palette of over 60 can also be chosen from.

The Bentley Bentayga Odyssean Edition goes on sale in November, ahead of the start of production in Q1 2023.
