Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast has now officially arrived in the Middle East. October 28, 2024, saw Vinfast host an official brand launch event at Bluewaters Island (Dubai) where the emerging carmaker showcased its variety of smart and green mobility solutions.

Additionally, Vinfast along with its partner Al Tayer Motors announced the opening of its first dealership in the UAE located in the downtown Al Barsha area of Dubai. The new Vinfast showroom is a 3S facility spanning a total area of over 950 square meters with modern and luxurious interiors housing Vinfast’s product line-up of the VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 models for customers to directly experience the cars. The showroom comprises around 400 metres of the total area whereas an integrated service workshop stacked with readily-available spare parts makes up for the remaining area.

Prices for the Vinfast VF8, now on sale in the Middle East, will start from AED 183,240 (VAT inclusive) with various options of exterior and interior colours. The VF8 is a two-row electric SUV designed by Italian powerhouse Pininfarina and it will be Vinfast’s first vehicle to arrive on the UAE’s shores with models VF6, VF7 and VF9 set to be launched in the region by 2025. Furthermore, Vinfast is set to open additional dealerships in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain by the end of this year.

Speaking at the event, Mr Ta Xuan Hien, CEO of VinFast Middle East, shared: “Today’s official brand launch in the Middle East marks an important step in VinFast’s journey to expand its presence in the global electric vehicle market. We are proud to partner with Gulf nations in the electrification revolution, offering smart and powerful electric vehicles with exceptional warranties, while gradually realizing our expansion plan in the Middle East and globally.”

Vinfast has already established a strong foothold in numerous international markets such as the U.S., Canada, Europe, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Middle East is part of Vinfast’s expansion strategy especially targeted towards countries with encouraging laws for the sale of electric vehicles. For the unaware, Vinfast presents itself as an EV manufacturer, part of one of Vietnam’s largest conglomerates – the Vingroup JSC, with the mission to make EVs accessible to everyone.
