Porsche announces a second edition for the Icons of Porsche car festival

The Dubai event will feature a safari theme with a new sports car unveil from Porsche

November 2022 will witness a swarm of car enthusiasts, more specifically Porsche fans, gather in Dubai as Porsche announces the return of the Icons of Porsche event. The second edition of this highly anticipated car event will witness a Safari theme overlaid to celebrate Porsche’s rallying heritage and highlight the passionate Porsche communities of the Middle East.

Set to be hosted at the Dubai Design District between November 26 and 27, the second edition aims to host a larger gathering than before, showcasing the biggest display of classic Porsches in the region. Apart from the large-scale exhibition of Porsches, the event will oversee the addition of new events. An Esports arena allows visitors to test their racing simulator skills in a Porsche along with a specially designed off-road course for visitors to enjoy an adventurous passenger ride experience in a Porsche Cayenne. Interested enthusiasts can register for the event at the link attached here or visit iconsofporsche.com.

Speaking of the large-scale exhibition, a plethora of classic Porsches ranging from the 911 SC Safari and 924 Carrera GTS to the 959 Paris Dakar rally car will be stationed for the visitors to soak in. But adding to these classic Porsche, the brand will also unveil the latest sportscar addition to its range. Game enthusiasts would also have a treat to enjoy as the virtually-designed Vision Gran Turismo will also be in attendance.

Porsche claims the venue for the two-day Icons of Porsche festival will be split between five distinct thematic zones. An adventure camp section will showcase a mix of offroad, overland and rallying displays, with famous museum race cars and driving experiences. Attendees wanting to embrace the Porsche lifestyle will enjoy the Community Village marketplace zone comprising Porsche merchandise. An Electric Field zone will feature Porsche’s cars in-game at the Esports arena, along with special installations depicting the brand’s role in shaping pop culture and digital art. Though a separate zone called Art Valley gets dedicated to tangible art featuring unique artworks from renowned international and local artists. And finally, a hub called Design Factory would be devoted to showcasing the brand’s design process and heritage along with various iconic head-turner sports cars.

The brand recorded more than 7,000 visitors and more than 1,000 Porsche owners last year, making it the largest gathering of Porsches ever in the region. However, the upcoming event plans to trump these numbers.

“Icons of Porsche is a celebration of Porsche’s amazing heritage. Last year’s event was one of the most impressive car displays this region has ever seen, with over 200 classic Porsche sportscars present. The safari theme for this year’s event will deliver a lot of exciting moments and engaging experiences. Attendees can expect to see some famous Porsche vehicles from throughout our rich history, with pedigree and success off-road as well as on the race track” said Dr Manfred Bräunl, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Middle East and Africa.

Apart from the massive gathering and celebration of Porsche’s car and culture, the event would also mark a multitude of other anniversaries. 20 years of Porsche Cayenne, the brand’s first SUV model, 50 Years of Porsche Design and ’70 Years of Porsche Clubs’ are certain additional milestones the brand would commemorate across the two-day event.
