Mclaren Racing F1 driver Lando Norris takes delivery of his custom McLaren MSO 765LT Spider

The Formula1 driver is a carbon-fibre aficionado, and his 765LT Spider features carbon fibre almost everywhere

Car enthusiasts must be aware that the 765LT is the latest McLaren car to carry the hallowed Longtail name, first associated with the legendary McLaren F1 GTR in 1997. But only a few might know that Mclaren Racing F1 driver Lando Norris was significantly involved in developing this latest supercar. And now, Lando Norris takes delivery of his own Mclaren 765LT Spider with special touches commissioned via MSO.

The 23-year-old chose a unique specification for his car, heavily influenced by his personal branding. A Gloss Blue Tint visual carbon fibre exterior with contrasting satin visual carbon fibre details sets this one-of-one supercar apart. The carbon-heavy paint is complimented by Satin Black wheels and contrasted by Lando Yellow brake callipers, the same colour used for Lando’s four stripe Graphic – reflecting his race number.

The F1 driver is a self-proclaimed “ carbon lover, the more carbon I can have, the better”. No wonder the racing driver ticked all three optional boxes for carbon fibre exterior upgrade packs, which incorporate the front splitter, front fenders & rear diffuser, air intakes, side skirts, and door mirrors in carbon fibre finish for his 765LT Spider. Even the roof tonneau and rear aero bridge get finished in MSO-defined carbon fibre, along with a carbon fibre hood adorned with a lightweight Dark Chrome McLaren badge.

The interior mimics the racing driver’s exterior colour palette, with carbon fibre racing seats trimmed in navy blue with Napier stitching. The steering wheel is a custom unit and boasts the same blue tint carbon fade as the exterior. The headrests are embroidered with Lando’s personal initial ‘LN4’ branding. The highlights on the door and dash trim are also draped in navy blue Alcantara and Napier stitching.

Look closer, and one will find a host of hidden details within the cabin. For instance, the door sills feature a custom dark-tint carbon union flag with a Lando graphic visible only upon the doors’ opening. The Lando graphic echoes on the bottom of the custom carbon steering wheel. The floor mats are in custom MSO-spec featuring LN4 branding and Napier stitching. Even the keyfob has the same exterior finish as the Lando graphic in Lando Yellow engravings. “I didn’t want to have my logo everywhere, I wanted something a bit more subtle and MSO has done a fantastic job to realise my vision”, commented the McLaren Racing F1 driver.

With just 765 examples made – all of which have been sold – Lando’s McLaren 765LT Spider is one of the most exclusive of the production run. The 765LT gets powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine developing 754hp and 800Nm. Watch the full video of Land Norris taking delivery of his new Mclaren supercar.
