Chinese carmaker BYD along with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, the brand’s exclusive distributor in the UAE, has launched the BYD Seal 7 DM-i Plug-in Hybrid sedan in the UAE. The new BYD Seal 7 DM-i Plug-in Hybrid sedan is the brand’s flagship D-segment model, featuring the largest dimensions in the segment. The new BYD Seal 7 DM-i PHEV will be available in the UAE in two trims with prices ranging between AED 109,900 and AED 129,900. Team TCI attended the launch hosted at BYD’s showroom at Festival City, Dubai. Here are the highlights from the same.
Powering the BYD Seal 7 is BYD’s fourth-generation DM-i (Dual Mode – Intelligent) platform along with a 17.6kW Blade Battery. Together, they combine to offer 840 kms of overall range which includes the ability to be driven in EV-only mode for up to 75 kms. Being a Plug-in Hybrid, the Seal 7 DM-i gets a 1.5T engine along with an electric motor to produce a combined power output of 270hp in its top-spec trim, allowing the premium sedan to accelerate from 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds.
Like most BYD offerings, the new Seal 7 DM-i boasts a feature-rich cabin with a high-definition 15.6” rotating infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 50W wireless phone charger, a Dynaudio 12-speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control and more. BYD claims the interiors “has been crafted to rival traditional luxury sedans with wrap-around ventilated leather seating and enhanced spaciousness”.

The BYD SEAL 7 DM-i Plug-in Hybrid Sedan is now available for test drives and pre-orders at all BYD showrooms across the UAE.
