A new 2023 season announced for Bowler’s one-make Defender rally series

Specifically designed for budding rally racers with Bowler offering car and support team services

After reporting a successful first season, off-road performance specialists Bowler announced a 2023 season for the one-make Defender Rally Series. Bowler’s Defender Rally Series has been specifically designed to offer entrants the chance to gain rally motorsport experience and facilitate event know-how for rally events.

The Rally Series comprises 12 teams taking part in nine events, of which seven include competitive racing with identical Defender rally cars. Budding rally drivers should take note of this event as Bowler can offer the necessary support and training, enabling entrants to achieve the correct licensing for competing in the UK and internationally.

Bowler offers an all-inclusive package for the 2023 UK Championship starting at £108,334 (plus VAT). This includes the purchase and full ownership of a brand-new, fully converted rally car based upon the latest road-registered model year Defender 90 P300. Further management through nine events, including full works support consisting of a dedicated team of race technicians for the seven competitive races, event hospitality, professional guidance, access to a fully stocked spares container and support unit, and training, is included in the package.

The off-road specialist company further offers an Arrive and Drive support package for international drivers. As races take place in remote locations in the UK, this package sees Bowler manage the rally car throughout the season, including professional cleaning, inspection, carrying out repairs, storing the car between races, and delivering the car on race day.

Calum McKechnie, Bowler General Manager, comments: “The 2022 Defender Bowler Championship has exceeded expectations on all fronts. As we anticipated, the latest generation Defender has proven to be a highly capable and extremely tough rally car which continues to surprise and thrill anyone who has experienced it. It has delivered incredibly close competition amongst the teams whilst still competing aggressively against the competition in the open rounds. Above all, the team camaraderie and relationships formed around the Championship have been a highlight which has attracted many new interested customers.”

The provisional 2023 UK Championship calendar commences from 4th March and ends with the final seventh round sometime in November.
