Rolls-Royce unveils the Bespoke one-off Spectre Lunaflair
The paintwork, reserved for the commissioning client, is inspired by the lunar halo
Another day, another special commission from Rolls-Royce is unveiled. The British carmaker has taken the covers off its latest Bespoke commission – the Rolls-Royce Spectre Lunaflair, inspired by the lunar halo and another Bespoke creation called the one-of-one Phantom Syntopia.
The anonymous client from the United States was captivated by the dark iridescent Liquid Noir finish of the Phantom Syntopia and asked the brand’s Bespoke division to create a lighter and more luminous expression of that concept that reflected the client’s fascination with the lunar halo phenomenon.
Rolls-Royce claims capturing this phenomenon in a Bespoke paint finish required more than one year of experimentation and now remains exclusively reserved for the commissioning client. The final finish comprises seven layers of lacquer, including a specially formulated pearlescent coat, infused with fine flakes of magnesium fluoride and aluminium that create a deep metallic effect under low light but burst into rainbow technicolour in bright sunshine.Â
Complementing the lighter technicolour exterior paint, the interior upholstery is finished with the spectrum of hues that can be witnessed during a lunar halo comprising navy blue, white, and peony pink tones. This colour palette extends to the door trim, seats, starlight headliner and dual-tone steering wheel.
