Cadillac unveils the all-electric Escalade IQ for the Middle East with 700kms of range

The Escalade gets 24-inch wheels and an Arrival Mode that allows it to move diagonally

The Escalade was Cadillac’s first foray into the SUV market in 1999. Throughout its two-decade-old history that saw the Escalade spawn five generations, the full-sized luxury SUV kept getting bigger with more imposing looks, improved luxury and incorporate the best in driver-assistance technology. And now, Cadillac has unveiled a Cadillac with the most revolutionary yet impending switch – an all-electric powertrain. Rest your eyes on the first-ever all-electric 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ.

Cadillac has unveiled the 2025 Escalade IQ in the Middle East. The Escalade IQ becomes the first full-size SUV from Cadillac to get built on General Motors’ EV-dedicated Ultium platform, helping it to boast an estimated range of over 700kms. And if you thought the looks were polarising, Cadillac has equipped it with 24-inch wheels to match the go with it. Additionally, it gets the Cadillac Arrival Mode, a unique four-wheel steer feature that allows the Escalade IQ to move diagonally, making it easier when pulling into or out of tight spaces. The fear of scrapping your bumpers might become a thing of the past.

The interior sports a curved pillar-to-pillar 55-inch-total-diagonal LED display powered by a next-generation Snapdragon 12 Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies. This integrated infotainment experience is further personalised and enhanced with Google built-in featuring Google Assistant 14 and Google Maps, allowing customers access to hands-free communication, live traffic updates, and information on nearby charging stations.

The Escalade IQ comes as a seven-seater as standard, with a power-folding third-row which folds flat for more storage. An Executive Second-Row Seating package is an optional extra offering creature comforts such as stowable tray tables, 12.6-inch-diagonal personal screens, a rear command centre screen, dual wireless phone charging pads, massaging seats and headrest speakers. This package also equips the vehicle with a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system against the 19-speaker system offered as standard.

Customers can select from two trim levels – Luxury or Sport. Regardless of the trim selected, the interior features customisable ambient lighting with 126 colour choices with laser-etched patterns accenting the wood panels for a unique look. Additionally, all four doors power open and close at the touch of a button, and if activated, the driver’s door will automatically open as the driver approaches with the key fob.

The Cadillac Escalade IQ features a two-motor eAWD system that puts out up to 750hp and 1064Nm torque. Despite the humongous weight of the 24-module Ultium battery that can provide up to 160kms of range on a 10-minute charge, the Escalade IQ can make the 0-100kph sprint in less than 5 seconds.

Further driver assistance features include Four-Wheel Steer that reduces the turning diameter at lower speeds and increases it at higher speeds for more controlled manoeuvrability. It also gets an Adaptive Air Ride Suspension system capable of lowering the vehicle to 2 inches and raising it by 1 inch. It also gets Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Low Ride Mode enabling it to be driven at low speeds with the suspension fully lowered.

Like many other EVs, the Escalade IQ will also have the ability to be equipped with optional offboard power, allowing the vehicle to act as a portable power generator to provide power to external appliances and devices.

Regular production of the Escalade IQ begins next summer at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan. Pricing for the Middle East market will be announced closer to the start of the sale.
