Beond airline is the world’s first premium leisure airline

Team TCI attends the official livery launch in Dubai

A global in-person media event orchestrated in Dubai on October 11th witnessed the executive from the newly launched Beond airline unveil its first aircraft. Draped in a unique dark livery, Beond presents itself as the world’s first premium leisure airline with the aim to “fly our customers to the most unique and unspoiled destinations where they can release their inner explorer on the most memorable vacation of their lives”.

To commence operations, Beond’s first aircraft constitutes an Airbus A319. However, the usual seating of around 200 passengers of the standard aircraft has been replaced with an overhauled and premium cabin design offering seating for 44 passengers in a luxurious all-lay-flat configuration. Fares start from €1,500 and beyond, one way per passenger depending on the origin.

Luxury connoisseurs would find Beond’s aircraft particularly appealing courtesy of the Optimares-designed lounge-type seats, found on private jets. The tableware and silverware utilised for passengers are high-quality and get sourced from Britain. The airline brand has further vowed to adopt sustainable practices such as using minimal plastics for dining and providing lightweight Apple-sourced iPads and headphones instead of fixed infotainment screens behind seats thereby reducing aircraft weight and fuel consumption.

The unveiling event had the entire Beond management in attendance comprising Taskila Tero, Chief Executive Officer, Max Nilov, Chief Strategy Officer, and Sascha Feuerherd, Chief Commercial Officer. The Cornea Impression was also invited to the unveiling in Dubai.

“Today is but the beginning of our vision for our customers, embodied by this beautiful aircraft — inside and out. We could not be more pleased to showcase it in Maldives, our home,d and Dubai. We wish especially to thank the government of Maldives and our supporters there, the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority, and SIMDI Group — each of whom believed in our vision for a new airline in Maldives. Our team will do its best to bring tourists to this beautiful nation.” said Tero Taskila, CEO of Beond, and a founder.

The inaugural flights are scheduled for November 2023 with an initial route plan to Riyadh departing November 9, Munich on November 15 and Zurich on November 17. The airline has further announced new routes from Dubai and Milan, beginning in late March 2024.

This first Beond aircraft will be on display at the Dubai Air Show in mid-November. Additional Airbus aircraft, the A321 will join the Beond fleet in late 2023 and early 2024 equipped with 68 180-degree lay-flat seats coupled with a premium in-flight hospitality experience.
