Pininfarina honours first-ever F1 World Champion with the new Battista Edizione Nino Farina

Its limited to five units with a bespoke livery to honour Nino Farina’s F1 race car

In a bid to honour Formula 1’s first-ever world champion, Nino Farina, Italian hypercar firm Pininfarina has launched an exclusive edition of its Battista hypercar, the Battista Edizione Nino Farina. Limited to just five unique examples, the Battista Edizione Nino Farina will be the second ‘design edition’ in the Battista portfolio, following the Battista Anniversario.

The former design house banner claims the newly launched design edition is very personal for the Pininfarina family, as Nino Farina also happened to be the nephew of design icon and company founder Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina. The Battista Edizione Nino Farina will make its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (13-16 July), just a few hundred metres from the Goodwood Circuit, where Nino drove to victory in the 1951 Goodwood Trophy (a non-championship F1 race).

The exterior gets finished in bespoke Rosso Nino – a deep and rich red hue that pays homage to the Nino Farina’s race cars. The red hue finish gets complemented by a special livery on the lower body, finished in Bianco Sestriere and Iconica Blu, which can also be found in a pinstripe design on each wing mirror cap. Furthermore, a ‘01’ decal in Bianco Sestriere is featured in a large graphic on the rear panel behind the door, and the wheels are a new 10-spoke forged aluminium Glorioso design featuring a distinctive Satin Gold finish.

Subtle yet exclusive finishes on the Battista Edizione Nino Farina comprise a bespoke ‘Nino Farina’ engraving on the headlight unit finished in brushed aluminium anodised in black, while the driver’s side carbon side wing is enhanced with a ‘Nino Farina’ graphic signature.

A two-tone theme runs across the interior of the Nino Farina commemorative edition, with the driver’s seat upholstery trimmed in black sustainable luxury leather and the passenger seat in contrasting beige and black Alcantara. The seats themselves feature a unique design with a bespoke quilting pattern and ‘Nino Farina’ on the backrest, followed by a ‘01’ graphic embroidered in gold on the driver headrest and a Pininfarina logo in red for the passenger seat headrest.

The steering wheel is finished in black Alcantara with Exposed Carbon, with further attention to detail getting extended via a steering wheel plate bearing the ‘Nino Farina’ signature and finished in brushed aluminium.

The powertrain on the Battista Edizione Nino Farina is the same as found on the standard Battista, comprising four independent high-performance electric motors – one driving each wheel. The total power output is registered at 1900hp, allowing it to make the 0-100kph sprint in an F1 car-beating 1.86 seconds and a 350km top speed. Being an all-electric car, the Pininfarina Battista offers a range of up to 476 km, courtesy of a high-capacity 120 kWh lithium-ion battery.
