Horacio Pagani states Leonardo’s art as design inspiration for his cars at Shanghai Museum event

To perpetuate and promote the dialogue between East and West, art and science, and tradition and modernity, the Shanghai Museum hosted an exhibition titled “The Shape of Air: from Leonardo da Vinci to Pagani Utopia” on March 4, 2024. This event saw Horacio Pagani, the founder and chief designer of Pagani Automobili, reveal Leonardo’s Renaissance art was a major artistic inspiration in the birth of his creations whilst also unveiling a new work – a dragon inspired by the Song era (960-1279), painted on the visible carbon hood of Pagani Utopia, created by Yan Xiaojun, a young artist from the Department of Painting and Calligraphy of the Shanghai Museum. This marked the first time in over 70 years of the Museum’s history that an automobile was exhibited in its halls. The exhibition open to the public until April 14, 2024, offers visitors a chance to see the philosophical and design evolution of Pagani’s automotive design.

Pagani unveils Utopia and new Arte design division at International Concours of Elegance

For the first time in an event, Italian hypercar maker Pagani is showcasing its third act called the Utopia to the public. The event in question is called The I.C.E. St. Moritz – International Concours of Elegance, where collectors and enthusiasts gather to admire dream cars lined up on the icy surface of a lake in Engadine, Switzerland. Pagani conceived the 99-unit-only Utopia as a simple car, focused on the pleasure of driving which explains the analogue instrumentation within the cabin. Also on display will be the Zonda F Coupé, which, back in 2007, established a new record for production cars on the Nürburgring. Additionally, Pagani has launched a whole new design division called Pagani Arte where the brand merges the intricate passion of automobiles with the realm of interior design. Visitors of the I.C.E can lay their eyes on a series of pieces from the Iconic Collection comprising the Iconic Sofa, the Iconic Coffee Table, the Iconic Sideboard, the Iconic Dining Table, and two Iconic Bergeres. A corner will be dedicated to the Pagani camera by Gibellini GP810HP, an equipment that took two years in the making and allows customers to configure their cameras to exactly match their cars. The International Concours of Elegance will take place between Friday, February 23rd, and Saturday, February 24th, 2024.
