New Jaguar EV Enters The First Phase Of Global Testing

Remember Jaguar’s ‘Reimagine’ strategy from not that long ago? For those who can’t recall, here’s the gist: under the JLR house, which the British brand shares with other iconic nameplates from the Land Rover reign, Range Rover, Discovery and Defender, it wants to become a maker of pure-electric luxury vehicles starting 2025.

It seems things are on track, time-wise. That’s because the prototypes of Jaguar’s all-new EV have jointly entered the first global testing and development phase. As we know, this will involve pushing them on public roads in varied conditions and, of course, vehicle test sites worldwide.

If you’re wondering what’s hiding behind the camouflage, it’s an electric four-door GT (Grand Tourer). It’ll be underpinned by the brand’s all-new electric platform called Jaguar Electric Architecture. The prototypes have already clocked tens of thousands of miles of virtual and physical scrutiny.

Jaguar says it will unveil information about the next stage in the transformation journey at Miami Art Week on December 2, 2024. Its Design Vision Concept will also debut during the same event.
