oneworld Names 15th Full Member Airline

One of the world’s leading airline alliances, oneworld, has welcomed its 15th full member airline – Fiji Airways. For the past five years, the flag carrier of Fiji has been a oneworld ‘connect’ partner. The airline developed cooperative links with all other oneworld member airlines to be eligible for the upgrade. The alliance confirms that Fiji Airways’ transition to a full membership starts immediately and will see completion within a year.

Fiji Airways currently has a fleet of 21 aircraft, including Airbus A350s, A330s, and Boeing 737s. From its hub at Nadi International Airport, it serves 26 destinations across 15 countries and territories globally, including oneworld hubs in Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.

Fiji Link, a subsidiary of Fiji Airways, will become an affiliate airline of oneworld. It will further strengthen the alliance’s network by roping domestic services to Suva, Nadi, Labasa, Taveuni and Kadavu. The airline’s other regional flights to the Pacific Island nations of Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Tonga will also benefit oneworld members.

As a full member, Fiji Airways will provide oneworld Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby customers with a full range of benefits, including earning and redeeming miles, netting status points, priority check-in and boarding and lounge access. On the other hand, Fiji Airways’ top-tier customers will benefit from oneworld priority goodies, including access to nearly 700 business and First class lounges worldwide.
