Caterham Partners With Yamaha For Developing New Sports Coupe
Those who follow Caterham Cars’ exciting work will remember Project V, a sports coupe concept the brand showcased during last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The design specimen was also displayed at the Tokyo Auto Salon later that year. Well, there’s now been an exciting advancement. The British brand has partnered with Yamaha Motor Company to develop the car.
To be precise, Yamaha will supply a lightweight and compact electric powertrain and solutions for vehicle motion control. In true Caterham fashion, Project V must be light on its feet, simple, and, most importantly, a hoot to drive. Tokyo R&D, a renowned name for OEM-commissioned prototypes and production vehicles, has been tasked to develop the prototype model for the British brand. It should be ready by the middle of 2025.
