Singapore Airshow 2024: Royal Brunei Orders Four Boeing Jets

Royal Brunei Airlines has announced an order for four Boeing 787 Dreamliners at the ongoing Singapore Airshow 2024. The twin-engined 787-9 widebody jet accounts for the entire purchase agreement.

The new aircraft will help Brunei’s national carrier modernise its fleet, which includes five 787-8s serving various destinations across Australia, the Middle East, the UK, and Asia. In fact, Royal Brunei Airlines was the first carrier in Southeast Asia to operate the Boeing 787-8 more than 10 years ago. Compared to the 787-8, the 787-9 can carry nearly 20 per cent more passengers and cover routes of up to 14,010km (7,565 nautical miles) nonstop. In addition, the 787-9 delivers up to 25 per cent reduction in emissions and fuel consumption.
