We Now Have A Debut Date For New BMW 5 Series Touring

BMW unveiled the new-gen 5 Series earlier this year. In its eighth generation, one of the world’s bestselling premium saloons also gained an all-electric variant – the i5. Besides the apparent void of an M5, which should be filled sooner rather than later, there was another missing link – the new 5 Series Touring.

Well, in Spring of 2024, the estate version will make its world premiere. And BMW confirms that the 5 Series Touring will have the same range of powertrain options as its sedan sibling. That means the portfolio will include internal combustion engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid systems, plug-in hybrid setups and, for the first time, an all-electric powerplant. The last option is developed specifically for markets like Europe, Japan and Taiwan.
