Delta Air Lines Orders Twenty A350-1000 Jets

USA’s Delta Air Lines has placed a first order for twenty Airbus A350-1000 aeroplanes. Once inducted, it will be a new aircraft type in the carrier’s fleet. Also, it will claim the title of the airline’s largest widebody jet.

The Airbus A350-1000 can fly over 400 passengers for up to 9,700 nautical miles (17,964km). Powered by the latest-generation engines, which can run efficiently on 50 per cent blended SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), the aircraft offers a 25 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Until now, Airbus has received more than 1,206 orders from 58 carriers worldwide for the A350.

Delta Air Lines currently has over 450 Airbus aircraft, comprising all the manufacturer’s product families – from the A220 to the A350-900. More than 200 are on order.
