Pratt & Whitney To Power 15 More Cebu Pacific Jets

The 2024 Singapore Airshow went live today. One of the early developments from the event was a deal between Pratt & Whitney and Cebu Pacific Air. According to the agreement, the former will supply GTF engines to the latter for an additional 15 Airbus aircraft – 10 A321neo and 5 A320neo. Also, the RTX-owned brand will provide engine maintenance per its EngineWise Comprehensive service contract.

There are presently 33 GTF-powered A320neo family Cebu Pacific jets in service. Before the modern-day aeroplanes came into the equation, Pratt & Whitney’s JT8D engines served the carrier’s DC-9 aircraft. In fact, the duo have been conducting business with each other since the 1990s.
