BOSS showcases an “Out of Office” collection at its Milan fashion show

Staged at the Palazzo del Senato in Milan, BOSS unveiled a collection that broke the conventional parameters of corporate attire. With a theme titled “Out of Office”, BOSS transformed the courtyard of the palazzo into a deconstructed yet organic and winding runway where models showcased BOSS’ formal dress code created to represent a clocked-out approach to an elevated 24/7 lifestyle. “We’ve stepped away from traditional double-breasted power suits, whose sharp cuts define the silhouette and are perceived as an inflexible shield around the wearer. This season, the hero piece is the understated three-button suit in lighter fabrics, gently wrapping the body without the constructs of shoulder-pads and constrictive internal structures. This is a reset: A real BOSS is empowered and self-confident; they know when to log off and claim back their time, go out and relax, free from the hierarchy of rules and regulations” says Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at HUGO BOSS.

Social media sensation Khaby Lame and Thai actor Mew Suppasit walked in the “out-of-office”-inspired show whereas football legend David Beckham attended his first BOSS runway presentation since the announcement of his strategic partnership with the brand.

Vietnam Airlines To Begin Direct Flights Between Hanoi And Milan

Vietnam’s flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has confirmed a new nonstop route to Europe, bringing the total to nine. Beginning July 1, 2025, the airline will operate three weekly flights to Milan, Italy, from Hanoi on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For Italy, Vietnam is the largest trading partner in the ASEAN. On the other hand, Italy is ranked as the fourth largest trading partner within the European Union. Establishing a direct link between Milan and Vietnam is based on the rise of travellers. Last year, the Southeast Asian nation welcomed 81,000 tourists from Italy, about 89 per cent of pre-pandemic levels. In the first quarter of 2024, a 32 per cent rise in travellers from Italy to Vietnam has been recorded compared to the same period in 2019.

Vietnam Airlines’ present European network already includes direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Paris, Frankfurt, and London. Next month, a direct service to Munich, Germany, will strengthen the carrier’s presence in Europe.

Brussels Airlines Plans To Focus More On Traffic From Africa

The Belgian national airline, Brussels Airlines, has announced its plans to expand its long-haul fleet, invest in cabin refurbishment, and utilise the services of another carrier based on the recently extended wet lease agreement with Lufthansa Group.

Brussels Airlines claims to be the “Africa expert” within the Lufthansa Group. To further strengthen that position, the carrier will induct three Airbus A330 aircraft, bringing its widebody fleet to 13. This move will help the airline focus primarily on the increasing traffic from the sub-Saharan Africa network. The idea is to make Brussels a European hub for flights to and from Africa.

Of course, with the new aeroplanes coming in, more manpower will be required. Hence, Brussels Airlines will hire over 250 new employees, including pilots, cabin crew, maintenance & engineering experts, and airport and office personnel. This also paves the way for present airline staff to move to a different or higher role.

In addition to inducting new aircraft, the Belgian carrier plans to gradually introduce all-new cabin interiors. While specific details are still under wraps, a complete overhaul of all three classes – Business, Premium Economy and Economy – is part of the plan. The airline says this project will attract an investment of more than 100 million euros.

Lastly, Brussels Airlines will operate four Airbus A220-300 aircraft with Latvian carrier airBaltic between March and October 2025. Each aircraft has 148 seats, and they will be deployed on routes with lower demand.

airBaltic And Lufthansa Group Add Three Years To Their Partnership

Latvian national carrier airBaltic has announced extending a wet lease partnership with Lufthansa Group. Here’s what Martin Gauss, president and CEO at airBaltic, said in an official release:

This partnership is an endorsement of our wet lease capabilities and reliability from a well-respected international brand like Lufthansa Group. We are looking forward to a successful collaboration over the coming years.

Earlier this month, airBaltic confirmed 16 new routes from three bases. Last month, it extended its order for new A220-300 aircraft, bringing the order book to 90.

Nissan tests special cooling paint to protect cars and drivers in high-temperature markets

“The summer months in the UAE witness high temperatures and humidity, which may ultimately have an impact on vehicles and cause discomfort to drivers – especially if parked outside.” says Harmeet Singh, Aftersales Director at Al Masaood Automobiles, the authorised distributor of Nissan, in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and other Western markets of the region. To counter the same, Mr Singh claims, “Nissan, in line with its commitment to leverage the latest technologies and intelligent mobility systems, is trialling with an innovative automotive paint that can address this issue. This latest technology will not only reduce the temperatures of exterior and interiors of vehicles, but it will also contribute to the reduction in use of fuels. While this new technology is still in the testing phase, it does have a promising potential.”

Nissan is developing a specialised automotive cooling part in collaboration with Radi-Cool, a specialist in radiative cooling products, to mitigate the heat across the car’s exterior surfaces like roof, bonnet and door panels. The paint incorporates metamaterials, better known as artificially engineered materials, that counteract the sun’s rays by dissipating the energy and redirecting it away from the vehicle and into the atmosphere. Nissan has already held a 12-month trial with the said paint formula and the reported outcome was positive. The cooling paint managed to procure a 12-degree Celsius reduction in exterior surface temperatures and up to a 5-degree Celsius decrease within the interiors, as compared to a traditionally painted vehicle.

“As the trial continues, it’s exciting to explore new technologies that can elevate our customers’ driving experiences. At Al Masaood Automobiles, we are always committed to seeking the latest solutions to our customers, thereby ensuring a delightful, convenient, and value-added ownership journey.” Singh concluded.

In the Middle Eastern region, Skoda’s SUV lineup has been gaining strong momentum. Skoda sold 789 units of the seven-seater Kodiaq SUV, up 28 per cent and 430 units of the Kushaq premium SUV, an increase of 30 per cent. Among the Middle Eastern countries, the UAE has been the brand’s largest market in the region. Lukas Honzak, Managing Director of Škoda Middle East, commented: “Our commitment to innovation and delivering value to our customers is evident in the strong results we’re seeing across the region. These achievements not only reinforce the solid foundations we are laying for future growth but also showcase the immense potential of the Škoda brand as we prepare to enter new markets. It’s Official! Stellantis Has Restarted Vehicle Assembly In Egypt

Stellantis, one of the biggest automobile groups in the world, has resumed vehicle assembly in Egypt. The news coincides with the launch of the locally-assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee L, which is being put together at the Arab American Vehicles (AAV) plant. The said facility is affiliated with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation.

For Stellantis, the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region is integral to its “Third Engine” strategy within its global operations. Stellantis MEA’s COO, Samir Cherfan, says that the launch of the Jeep SUV is also an essential move in the company’s Dare Forward 2030 strategy. By the end of the decade, Stellantis wants to increase its regional market share to over 22 per cent. That will be achieved by selling one million vehicles in 2030, of which Stellantis wants 35 per cent to be electric. Another goal is to go beyond 90 per cent localisation and claim the top spot in that regard.

The assembly plant in Egypt will help Stellantis serve other important markets in the MEA region, where it plans to launch 25 new models by 2030. And, of course, vehicle assembly will generate new direct and indirect employment opportunities in Egypt.
