The all-new MINI John Cooper Works Electric and Aceman debuted at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, continuing the brand’s racing heritage. John Cooper’s high-performance MINIs, famous for three Monte Carlo Rally victories in the 1960s, have now evolved into fully electric models that help carry the beacon forward.
Exterior: Aero-enhanced bodywork w/ gloss black grille, horizontal LED headlamps & big rear spoiler; 18″/19″ wheels
Both all-electric JCW models feature a streamlined, performance-oriented design. The red, white, and black JCW logo on the high-gloss black front grille is designed to evoke MINI’s motorsport heritage. The cars feature a welcome projection of the logo that illuminates from the side mirrors when approaching, as well as horizontal LED daytime running lights in the JCW Signature style. They also get black side skirts, C-pillar aero blades, and pronounced rear spoilers. Red vertical reflectors and contrasting Chili Red or JCW multi-tone roofs with a red-to-black gradient further emphasize the sporty outlooks of both models. Aerodynamically optimized wheels are available, with 18-inch versions for the JCW Electric and 19-inch for the Aceman.
Interior: Racing-inspired cabin w/ red/black chequered dash pattern & central 9.5″ OLED infotainment display
Inside, the minimalist black and red colour scheme continues. The dashboard features a black and red knitted pattern, and ambient lighting adds an exclusive touch by illuminating the panoramic roof. The seats are upholstered in black synthetic leather with multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders and red accent stitching. A 240 mm (9.5-inch approx.) OLED display provides all essential vehicle data, while the central instrument controls air conditioning, media, phone, and navigation. The new MINI Experience Modes allow for customizable interior ambience.
Powertrain: 350 Nm torque gets them to 100 km/h in 5.9s (3-door) / 6.4s (Aceman); 54.2 kWh batteries w/ 371 km range (3-door) / 355 km (Aceman)
The electric powertrains in both the MINI JCW Electric and Aceman produce up to 258 hp (190 kW), allowing the JCW Electric to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the Aceman reaches it in 6.4 seconds. Both models achieve a top speed of 200 km/h and deliver 350 Nm of system torque. The boost paddle on the sport steering wheel adds 20 kW of electric power for quick overtaking and exhilarating acceleration. The JCW-specific suspension ensures improved go-kart-like handling, complemented by high-performance tyres and a powerful Chili Red braking system. With 54.2 kWh batteries, the MINI JCW Electric offers a range of up to 371 km (WLTP), while the Aceman is claimed to hit the 355 km mark.
