Samsung Electronics has announced a significant upgrade to its Bixby voice assistant, enhancing its AI capabilities and improving its ability to understand complex commands and control home appliances.
Bixby’s Enhanced Features
The upgraded Bixby offers three key improvements:
- Multi-Intent: Bixby can now understand commands that combine multiple requests in a single sentence, making it easier for users to control their devices.
- Multi-Turn: Bixby can remember previous conversations, allowing for more natural and ongoing interactions with users.
- Device Q&A: Bixby can assist with troubleshooting and product-related questions, helping users navigate their appliances more effectively.
Availability and Supported Appliances
The Bixby update will initially be available for five Samsung home appliances launched in 2024: the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub™, Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™, Bespoke Slide-in Range, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™ AI, and Bespoke AI WindFree™ Gallery Freestanding Air Conditioner.
Enhanced Control and Convenience
With the upgraded Bixby, users can control their connected SmartThings devices more seamlessly. They can express their needs more naturally and ask for multiple tasks to be performed simultaneously. For example, users can ask Bixby to check the weather, start a laundry cycle, and clean the living room in a single command.

Generative Wallpaper for Family Hub™ Refrigerators
In addition to the Bixby upgrade, Samsung is introducing a new Generative Wallpaper feature for refrigerators with Family Hub™. This feature allows users to create custom wallpapers based on their preferences, adding a personalized touch to their home appliances.
