Rimac announced this week that their production facility, coined the ‘Rimac Campus’ has completed phase one. Able to eventually support 2,500 employees, the current phase has 400 employees on-site out of the 1,500 currently working in Croatia. One of the biggest production facilities in this part of Europe, this massive 75,000 square meter (18.53 acre) building is just getting started.
Bugatti Rimac is using the facility to house their hypercar production, development, and R&D activities. We will see the Nevera, Nevera R, and the prototyping, composite manufacturing, CNC machining, upholstery, and paint production coming out of the facility. They’re also going to use this campus to accommodate three new battery activities for other higher-end European car makers.
In current form, the campus has had a 120 million Euro investment and inside it is said to, “incorporate “houses within a house” design, featuring six-meter-high ceilings and green atriums that provide natural light and fresh air. The main design element, a continuous aluminum facade, reflects light while dematerializing the massive volume of the production area, integrating the facility seamlessly with its natural surroundings.” At the center of the campus, there is a large kitchen and communal dining area for all employees.
They will need the space as once phase two is complete, the campus will be called home to 2,500 employees. That’s not to mention the 25,000 square meter (6.17 acre) additional facility right down the road. The home of Bugatti Rimac is set to bring us amazing hypercars for years to come!
