British Airways To Set A New Record Next Summer

During peak weeks, the airline will operate over 400 direct flights weekly to the USA, Canada and Mexico.

UK’s national carrier, British Airways, has announced plans to operate a record number of flights from London to the USA, Canada and Mexico during the peak summer period next year. This move will further solidify its claim of offering more flights across the Atlantic Ocean than any other European airline. In short, the airline will operate over 400 direct flights weekly to the USA, Canada and Mexico during peak weeks.

Starting with Miami, Florida, British Airways will operate an additional seven weekly flights, doubling the total weekly services count and becoming a twice-daily route throughout the year. The airline will also inaugurate a new lounge in Miami next year. An increase of seven flights per week is planned for Washington, DC. Once implemented, the airline will have 21 weekly flights between the two capitals.

Next up, Austin, Texas. British Airways will increase the weekly services total to thirteen by adding six extra flights. Similarly, an additional three weekly flights to Las Vegas, Nevada, during peak summer months will bump the weekly total to 10. The carrier has also announced that it will operate the London-Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) service daily with an additional weekly flight.

British Airways will operate up to seven extra weekly flights for those planning a trip to Vancouver, Canada, from London Heathrow. That will bump the per week count to 14. Couple that with the services available from London Gatwick, travellers will have three daily flights between the two cities from June to September.

The airline hasn’t forgotten other important routes. In addition to a third daily service to Delhi and a second daily flight to Florence from London Heathrow, British Airways will also increase the flight count on the London Gatwick-Cancun route to make it a daily service next summer.

Starting October 28, 2024, the airline’s London Gatwick-Bangkok route will return with three weekly services. Between January and March 2025, the connectivity will improve to five weekly flights. British Airways has also confirmed new services to Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah, which are set to launch in November of this year. Lastly, an increase in frequency is planned for the London-Riyadh route.

Those planning to travel to Doha can now choose the First cabin option aboard one of the two daily flights served on a Boeing 787-10.
