Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster, The World’s Most Powerful Manual Hypercar Goes On Sale

The $2.65 million, 1,817 hp hypercar will be “incomparable to anything else on Earth”; only 12 units will be built and all are spoken for

The world’s most powerful production car with a manual transmission is here! Hennessey Special Vehicles, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, has announced plans to build the Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster. This Roadster is designed to be the automaker’s most engaging, physical, and driver-focused hypercar yet. Centred around the gated 6-speed manual transmission, the significantly re-engineered 1,817 hp Venom F5-M Roadster is designed for the joy of driving, an experience which is said to be magnified by the open cockpit. Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadster models will be built and all units are already spoken for.

Exterior highlights

Each vehicle will feature a unique livery exclusive to the model range and each owner is guaranteed a unique color that is deleted from Hennessey’s world-leading configurator once chosen. Thanks to the one-off colors and unique carbon fibre treatments, each of the manual Venom F5 hypercars will remain different from the rest of the range, inside and out. Also, the addition of a huge 1,400 mm (55-inch) dorsal fin that stretches from the roof-mounted air scoop right to the trailing edge of the rear deck will be one its most distinctive features.

Interior highlights

The stripes, which continue over the roof, also connect the car’s exterior to its cockpit, with the ‘spine line’ mirrored beneath the roof onto the central console. The highlight, however, is the elevated aluminum and carbon fiber gear shifter within the 6-speed gate (milled from billet aluminum) which is positioned close to the driver, to aid the perfect shift. The new look sees new horizontal air outlets set above a purpose-made slot for the key – made from the same billet aluminum. Down from the gearstick, there’s also space for the air conditioning control and the redesign is completed with the jet-fighter-inspired toggle switches for the windows.

Performance tuning

Like the F5, the Venom F5-M Roadster uses a twin-turbo 6.6L V8 which produces 1,817 hp at 8,000 rpm and 1,617 Nm at 5,000 rpm. All of that torque is multiplied using a gated 6-speed manual transmission, which replaces the regular F5 Roadster’s semi-automatic (with paddle shifters). The Vice President of Engineering of Hennessey Special Vehicles, Brian Jones along with the calibration team remapped the engine to pair it with new gearing ratios which allows for graduated application of power in order to optimise the Venom F5-M’s incredible acceleration, especially as the speed increases.

Nathan Malinick, Hennessey Director of Design, said, about the driving experience that it will be “incomparable to anything else on Earth.”

Availability & pricing

Design, specification, and build of each Venom F5 is carried out at Hennessey’s HQ in Sealy, Texas. Each Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster is priced from $2.65 million (AED 10.75 million approx.)
