Oakley Unveils New Born To Rewild Collection, Inspired by Frogs And Wind
Think high-wrap eyewear with frog leg-like temples and a multi-layered vest that converts into a fully integrated backpack with handle!
Sporting goods giant Oakley introduces “Born to Rewild,” a cutting-edge collection that reconnects with nature’s primal essence. The collection “Born To Rewild”, which is an obvious play on the song “Born To Be Wild”, consists of two main products, the Plantaris eyewear and the Latitude Flex Vest. The range is meant to push the boundaries of design and engineering to seamlessly adapt to wearers as they navigate both urban and natural landscapes.
The Plantaris eyewear brings nature closer with its Matte Trans Fern/Matte Dark Brush finish and Prizm Tungsten lenses. Drawing inspiration from biomimicry and natural forms, its high-wrap dual lens design modernizes early 2000s eyewear for enhanced comfort and functionality. The frame’s unique shape and silicone wire core temple tips replicate frog legs, providing a secure, lightweight grip. A detachable nose guard offers added versatility, instantly altering the look and boosting functionality. The Plantaris is also available in Matte Stonewash, Matte Black, and Matte Sand colorways. The Plantaris is currently on sale for AED 1015 approximately, on Oakley US website.
The Latitude Flex Vest is the newest addition to Oakley’s apparel lineup, part of the highly technical Latitude Collection inspired by movement. Designed for layering and weather adaptability, the vest features a multi-purpose pocket system with side webbing for a custom fit and easy transport. It includes 3D volume and power mesh pockets for eyewear, a spacious back zip pocket for storage, and reverse waterproof zips with bonded seams for durability. The vest also has a magnetic fidlock buckle for quick closure and converts into a fully integrated backpack, seamlessly transitioning from city use to outdoor exploration. The Latitude Flex Vest is priced at AED 2020 approx.
