Transavia Gets Its First Airbus A320Neo

Last month, Transavia took delivery of its first Airbus A321Neo on lease from Air Lease Corporation. The low-cost carrier’s French arm has now inducted its first Airbus A320Neo, on lease from Avolon. A SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) blend powered the aircraft’s delivery flight from Airbus’ manufacturing site in Toulouse to Paris-Orly.

The carrier’s A320Neo has an 186-seat single-class configuration and features the new-gen CFM International LEAP-1A engines and Sharklets. Airbus’ Airspace XL bins raise the practicality quotient, providing 40 per cent more storage space than the standard stacks. Also, every seat has its own USB-C port. It will be used by Transavia France on its domestic network and across its European and Mediterranean routes.

No airBaltic Service To And From Tel Aviv Until This Date

Latvia’s flag carrier, airBaltic, has announced that it has suspended all flights to and from Tel Aviv. This comes into immediate effect and will remain so until March 31, 2024. Due to the uncertainty in the region and to keep its passengers safe and secure, the airline decided to take this operational step. That said, airBaltic aims to keep a close eye on the developments and, based on how the situation progresses, will make necessary adjustments to its flight schedules.

The carrier is inviting all the affected passengers to either file for a refund online or get in touch for other possible changes via their customer care number.

EVA Air Orders 33 Airbus Jets

Airbus has bagged a firm order from EVA Air. It is for 18 A350-1000 widebody aircraft and 15 A321neo single-aisle jets. With this purchase, the Taiwanese airline became the latest carrier to opt for the flagship A350-1000, which can seat up to 410 passengers in a standard three-class configuration. The long-haulier is powered by two new-gen Rolls-Royce engines, which can help the aircraft cover up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000km) nonstop.

The A321neo, on the other hand, is one of the most popular aeroplanes for short- and medium-range routes. It currently dominates the segment with a market share of about 65 per cent. The A350 model range is also gaining popularity, with Airbus already bagging orders for over 1,000 units from 60 carriers worldwide. Both aircraft mentioned above can fly with up to 50 per cent SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).
