Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo To Launch In The Middle East

The new range-topping derivative will be sold in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.

With a dedicated regional head office now up and running in Dubai, Skoda has set itself a task for the Middle East region – introduce European quality models at an affordable price. Part of the portfolio is a compact SUV called the Kushaq. That model is all set to gain a new range-topping derivative – the Kushaq Monte Carlo. This variant will go on sale in early 2024 in four markets in the Middle East – Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.

The Kushaq is the first model in Skoda’s regional product range to get the motorsport-inspired Monte Carlo version. The features that make it stand out include new 17-inch dual-tone Vega alloy wheels, silver brake callipers, Monte Carlo badging on fenders and scuff plates, and gloss black finishing on the radiator grille, front and rear diffusers and ORVM caps. The sporty tone continues indoors, with soft-touch materials and a red-and-black theme.

Other features that the Kushaq Monte Carlo shares with other model variants include a six-speaker sound system, six airbags, a digital instrument cluster, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, Hill Hold Control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear-view camera. The 385-litre boot can be expanded to 1,405 litres by folding the rear seats.

Powering the Skoda Kushaq is a three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre TSI engine that produces 113hp/178Nm. A six-speed automatic gearbox harnesses the oomph and feeds it to the front wheels. According to Skoda, the engine-transmission combination can deliver a mileage of 16.8kmpl.

The Skoda Kushaq range starts at AED 59,900 (including VAT). That figure, however, will vary depending on the market.
