At the Paris Air Show 2025, where it bagged aircraft orders from operators like Riyadh Air, LOT Polish Airlines and ANA Holdings, Airbus struck another deal with Vietnam’s largest private airline, Vietjet. The inked MoU between the two mentions a firm order for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, with the option to purchase an additional 50 later. The new deal between Vietjet and Airbus comes only a few weeks after they signed paperwork for supplying A330 planes in May this year.
Vietjet currently operates a fleet of over 100 Airbus aircraft. The new jets on order will not only assist the airline in modernising its fleet but also enhance its global presence.
The A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ A320neo family. Even the latest variant in the range, the A321XLR, is derived from the same formula. Design enhancements and next-generation engines enable the A321neo to provide a 50 per cent reduction in noise and 20 per cent savings in fuel and CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation of single-aisle jets. By the end of May 2025, more than 90 operators from around the world had placed orders for over 7,000 A321neo aircraft.
