Toyota Gazoo Racing UAE Academy Is Back!

A shoutout to all those who aspire to make a mark in motorsport. The Toyota Gazoo Racing UAE Academy is back for season two. If you’re interested in participating, registrations for the programme are underway and will remain active until February 16, 2024. There’s also a cap of 2,100 applications. Once breached, the registration window will automatically close. Click here to register yourself.

Those participating in the Toyota Gazoo Racing UAE Academy 2024 season will be scrutinised on four fronts – physical prowess, media finesse, driving skills and mental acuity. Once registered, contestants will be auditioned on a first-come, first-served basis to check their suitability for the qualification stage. Comprising the testing regime will be kart racing and an interview.

The shortlisted 48 contestants will then head towards the qualifications and development stages. After further gruelling screenings, just four will progress to the final stage. The final winner will claim the Toyota Gazoo Racing Ambassador title for 2024 and get to drive a Toyota GR Supra for the year.

EMAAR Partners With BMW Group For EV Charging Stations

UAE’s EMAAR has partnered with BMW Group Middle East to strengthen the network of EV charging points in the country. According to the agreement, the latter will install EV charging points across the former’s prime locations, including residential and public areas.

Over 25 EMAAR projects will get EV charging points in 2024 as per the paperwork signed by both parties during COP28 UAE – an event where BMW Group was the VIP e-mobility provider. The first phase of the partnership will witness the installation of more than 50 EV charging points.

Besides partnering with EMAAR, the BMW Group Middle East is working with UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to construct fast charging stations nationwide. The plan includes building a robust charging station network on federal roads and destinations with 30 DC and 150 AC chargers.

You Will Be Able To Test Drive A Zeekr In The UAE Soon

In September last year, Geely-owned EV-only brand Zeekr announced its partnership with four corporations to sell cars in the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain). The company had inked an agreement with AW Rostamani (AWR) Group for the UAE. Alongside this development, Zeekr confirmed that it would launch two models – 001 and X – in all four Middle Eastern markets mentioned above in the first quarter of 2024.

Zeekr and AWR have announced that both models will debut in March 2024. They will be sold via two soon-to-be-opened showrooms, one each in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Those interested can test drive and book the Zeekr 001, a shooting brake, and the Zeekr X, an SUV, from next month.

The Electric 600e Is The Most Powerful Abarth Ever

What you see here is the first official glimpse of an Abarth – the 600e. But it is no ordinary electric hatchback. It is the most powerful Abarth ever! While undergoing its final testing, it made a public appearance in Milan earlier this week. Abarth will introduce the 600e in its Scorpionissima launch edition, which is limited to just 1,949 units.

The set of confirmed highlights includes a peak output of 240hp, a unique mechanical limited-slip differential and high-performance grippy tyres from the supplier for Formula E. Hypnotic Purple shade, low profile 20-inch rims, a rear spoiler that aids aerodynamics and a potent braking system are among the features list as well.

Expect a full-blown unveiling soon.
