Newly unveiled Bentley Bentayga Apex Edition is the brand’s pinnacle of SUV performance

The exclusive Bentayga S based variant gets a racing stripe, carbon ceramic brakes and carbon-fibre wheels, trims and even badging; only 20 units available globally

Luxury automobile manufacturer, Bentley has unveiled the special edition Bentley Bentayga Apex Edition SUV for those seeking exclusivity even among equals, and superlative performance. The Apex Edition is based on the sporting Bentayga S and is limited to just 20 examples globally.

Six distinct designs

Buyers get to choose between six distinctive designs curated by Mulliner including this one pictured with bold exterior finish in Orange Flame with Linen main hide and Newmarket Tan secondary hide interiors, or the opportunity to cocreate a unique one-of-one specification. All designs include a central painted livery stripe extending over bonnet and roof, a first for the Bentayga.

Carbon-fibre embellishments as standard

Every Bentayga Apex Edition is equipped the Styling Specification’s aerodynamic front spoiler, rear spoiler, sills and mirror caps in satin carbon-fibre. Interior appointments centre around a bespoke colour split with satin carbon-fibre fascia, centre console and door waistrails, purposed in the 5-seat configuration, and benefits from the Comfort Specification and Naim audio system. The Apex Edition also comes with blind seat insert embroidery with contrast Bentley emblems, the Apex Edition name on the waistrails, and Apex Edition carbon-fibre treadplates and carbon-fibre Apex Edition badges on the exterior D-Pillar. All Apex Edition models feature the latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with the inclusion of Touring specification.

Matching specs for your Le Mans Edition Continental GT and GTC

Owners of the limited edition Le Mans Edition Continental GT and GTC, created in 2023 to mark the 20th anniversary of Bentley’s 6th victory at the La Sarthe circuit, can specify the Apex Edition in matching livery of Verdant green with Moonbeam Le Mans style racing stripe. The interior matches that of the Le Mans Edition Continental GT, with Beluga hide and napped Dinamica fabric seat faces etc.

542 horses from Bentayga S; new carbon brakes & wheels

The Apex Edition’s powertrain is based on the Bentayga S variant’s potent 4.0-litre, twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine which develops a max. output of 542 bhp (550 PS) and 770 Nm (568 lb.ft.) of max. torque. The specification that includes active anti-roll bars and rear-wheel steering makes the Bentayga S the most dynamic of Bentley SUVs and the Apex Edition trumps it with the inclusion of ultra-strong, lightweight 22-inch Mulliner carbon-fibre wheels and carbon ceramic brakes (saving a total of 44 kg), making it the most performance-oriented Bentayga ever. Acceleration numbers are impressive as well, with a claimed 0–100 km/h (0-60 mph) time of 4.5 (4.4) seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).

The extensive use of carbon-fibre parts and panels endows the Apex Edition with several fundamental benefits like increased steering agility (thanks to improved wheel stiffness equivalent to 1° in camber per 1G of force) and improved braking. It also provides increased safety thanks to gradual deflation in the case of impact during accidents and reduced tyre wear. The Carbon-Silicon-Carbide (CSiC) discs, besides shaving off weight, also offer a maximum braking torque of 6,000 Nm.
