The Porsche 850 Fantom Air is a yacht powered by Macan EV’s powertrain tech

Porsche collaborates with Austrian Frauscher Shipyard to develop an exclusive electric sports boat called the 850 Fantom Air. This exclusive all-electric sports yacht will initially be limited to 25 units, with the first deliveries planned for 2024. Porsche’s yacht will be based on the Frauscher 858 day cruiser whilst carrying its dimensions of 8.67-meter length and 2.49-meter-width. The electric watercraft will be powered by the same powertrain slated to be used in the next-gen Macan EV comprising the 800V PPE platform, the lithium-ion battery and the next-gen permanently excited synchronous electric motor but optimised for water use. The Porsche X Frauscher 850 Fantom Air can seat nine people while housing a swimming/lounge platform at the rear deck, two benches, two bimini tops for shade, a premium sound system, and a refrigerator. The German automaker has claimed to be heavily involved in the seat design and upholstery decisions to ensure a luxurious feel.

The coachbuilt Bentley Batur completes development and commences production

Some may see the Bentley Batur as a coachbuilt iteration of the Continental GT kept as the base, but the Batur boasts more than 800 parts exclusive to itself. A developmental programme spanning 58 weeks and over 30,000kms of real-world driving concluded recently, entailing Bentley can now commence production of the 18-units-only Batur in its dedicated coach-built Mulliner workshop. The last unit will be completed at the end of 2024 and all Batur cars will be equipped with a 740hp W12 engine, making it the most powerful Bentley to date. The two prototype cars, internally known as Car Zero and Car Zero-Zero, were built to the same levels of craftsmanship as one of 18 customer cars. The former received a Purple Sector exterior finish with the prominent matrix grille in Gloss Dark Titanium, while the latter featured a striking Marina Teal finish.

Al-Futtaim Auto Centres launches its biggest multi-brand service facility in Dubai

Al-Futtaim Automotive has unveiled the biggest service and maintenance facility within its Auto Centers network which now rounds the network tally up to 14. The new facility is located at Dubai Festival City, next to Dubai Festival City mall, and is spread over 47,000 square feet, with the capacity to service up to 100 vehicles per day. It covers service and repairs such as new tyres, wheel alignment, brakes, oil change and fitting of accessories with a choice of both OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and aftermarket parts available for all brands and models, from passenger cars to commercial vehicles. In addition, the Al-Futtaim Auto Centers also announced its partnership with CAFU which allows customers to book the Auto Centers mobile service vehicle to come to their home or office, and deliver various kinds of automotive services, from oil change to tire replacement.
