Where is ROKA opening in Dubai?
ROKA is opening its second Dubai site on the rooftop of Six Senses The Palm, on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah. The host resort is Six Senses’ UAE debut, a coral-inspired, wellness-led address set on a private beach. The move follows five years in Business Bay, where ROKA built a steady following and became one of the city’s more reliable dinner bookings.
What is ROKA known for?
Rainer Becker founded ROKA in London in 2004, opening the first site on Charlotte Street after the success of Zuma. The name sets out the idea: RO for the robata grill that food and drink gather around, KA for the heat and energy that surround it. That grill sits at the centre of every ROKA, drawing on the old charcoal-grilling traditions of fishermen off Japan’s northern coast, and ROKA builds its dishes to share. Since then, the brand has spread from London to Dubai, Riyadh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Istanbul and the Greek islands.
What can guests expect at ROKA Six Senses The Palm?
This is an evening-first ROKA, made for sunset drinks that run into late dinners. Furthermore, the interiors keep the brand’s familiar look, but the open terrace is the draw, with the water and the sunset in front of you. The kitchen runs on the robata grill, backed by a full drinks list and an easy, sociable room. However, doors open at 6 pm, for dinner only.

The second site deepens ROKA’s footprint in the UAE and the wider GCC, after recent openings in Kuwait, Bahrain and Riyadh. It also caps a busy year that brought ROKA Mykonos over the summer.
