Porsche Taycan Turbo S Soho House One: A One-Off 939hp Electric Wagon With A Unique Paintjob

Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division collaborated with Soho House to treat this electric supercar like an interior design project.

Porsche is no stranger to special editions, but the new Taycan Turbo S Soho House One takes the idea of personalization to another level. It’s created by Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division in collaboration with Soho Home, the interiors arm of Soho House.

This one-off electric wagon combines the performance credentials of the Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo with design cues inspired by Soho House locations around the world. The result is a car that feels at home outside a members-only club in London, parked in front of a design gallery in New York, or silently embarrassing supercars at a traffic light.

Based on the flagship Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo, the Soho House One retains all the performance of Porsche’s most potent electric wagon while receiving a completely bespoke exterior, interior, and even a specially designed panoramic roof.

More importantly, it showcases the capabilities of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division, the department responsible for turning ambitious customer requests into reality. In this case, the brief was simple: bring the design language of Soho Home into a Porsche for the very first time.

Why Did Porsche Spend Hundreds Of Hours Creating This Paint Finish?

Simply because the first thing you’ll notice is the colour. Called Greek Street Green, the unique shade takes inspiration from the exterior of Soho House’s original location at 40 Greek Street in London. Porsche didn’t simply spray the car green and call it a day, either.

The finish was developed through the Paint to Sample Plus programme before being transformed into a full matte exterior treatment. A hand-painted SH ONE Brass coachline runs across the body, while bespoke Soho House logos and lettering complete the look.

According to Porsche, the paintwork alone required several hundred hours of work, involving:

  • Around 40 hours of colour and design validation
  • Approximately 40 hours of vehicle disassembly
  • Between 100 and 130 hours of surface preparation and masking
  • Roughly 60 hours for the paint application process
  • Additional inspection, finishing, and reassembly work

The coachline itself was hand-applied by Porsche designer Emiel Burki. The Taycan rides on contrasting Monteverde Green wheels, creating a colour combination that somehow sounds questionable on paper but works surprisingly well in reality.

All told, the paintwork process involved extensive preparation, multiple paint layers, meticulous masking, quality inspections, and final reassembly. It’s a level of effort more commonly associated with concours restorations than a brand-new EV.

What’s Special About The Taycan Turbo S Soho House One’s Interior?

The cabin is where the collaboration becomes most obvious. Rather than simply adding special stitching and a commemorative plaque, Porsche reimagined the interior around Soho Home’s design language.

The seats feature a bespoke fabric inspired by Soho Home’s Murphy Jacquard upholstery, finished in an exclusive chocolate shade. The pattern itself draws inspiration from the geometric motifs found at 180 House London.

Complementing the fabric are:

  • Truffle Brown leather upholstery
  • Open-pore burl wood trim
  • Bespoke floor mats
  • Graphite-toned accents
  • Unique interior detailing throughout

Developing the seat fabric was reportedly one of the biggest engineering challenges of the project. Porsche had to recreate the appearance and tactile feel of luxury home upholstery while ensuring it could withstand the durability requirements expected in a performance car.

Meanwhile, the final finish on the open-pore burl wood trim took 16 months of development, with multiple wood species, colours, and gloss levels evaluated before the final specification was approved.

The result feels more boutique hotel lounge than sports car cabin. Yet somehow it works. The mixture of fabric, leather, and wood gives the interior a warmth that’s becoming increasingly rare in modern performance cars dominated by carbon fibre and glossy black trim.

How Does The Taycan’s Special Variable Light Control Roof Work?

One of the most interesting features of the Soho House One is its specially designed Variable Light Control panoramic roof. Available on the Taycan since 2022, the system uses liquid crystal technology to electronically adjust the glass opacity. Instead of a traditional sunblind, occupants can choose varying levels of transparency at the touch of a button.

For this one-off, Porsche has gone a step further. The glass incorporates a bespoke laser-etched geometric pattern inspired by Soho House interiors. As the roof transitions through different opacity settings, the pattern becomes increasingly visible.

When sunlight shines through, the design projects patterned shadows into the cabin. Even in its fully opaque mode, passengers can still subtly see the pattern overhead.

The system itself is remarkably sophisticated:

  • Seven-layer glass construction
  • Liquid crystal technology
  • Nine individually controllable roof segments
  • Heat-reflective silver coating
  • Insulating inner layer

At its core is a polymer matrix sandwiched between conductive layers. When voltage is applied, the liquid crystals rearrange themselves, allowing light to pass through. Remove the voltage, and the glass becomes opaque once again. It’s the sort of feature that turns a roof into a conversation piece. Which is quite an achievement for something most people normally ignore.

How Fast Is This Porsche & Soho House Creation?

Beneath the bespoke craftsmanship lies one of the fastest electric performance cars Porsche has ever built. The Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo’s dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain produces 939hp & 1,110Nm, and is powered by a 105 kWh battery pack.

Performance figures:

  • 0-100km/h in 2.4 seconds
  • Top speed of 260km/h

Those figures place it firmly in supercar territory. Which means while the interior may have been inspired by luxury lounges and designer furniture, the performance remains pure Porsche. Press the throttle, and you’ll discover this isn’t a mobile showroom for home décor.

The fact that this performance comes from a practical Sport Turismo body style only makes it more impressive. There aren’t many cars capable of carrying luggage, showcasing bespoke craftsmanship, and embarrassing exotic machinery on a drag strip in the same afternoon.

A Showcase For Porsche’s Sonderwunsch Programme

The Taycan Turbo S Soho House One also serves as a demonstration of what’s possible through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme. Sonderwunsch, which translates to “special wish,” allows customers to work directly with Porsche designers, engineers, and craftspeople to create highly individualized vehicles.

Projects range from bespoke paint colours and custom interiors to completely unique one-off commissions. This particular Taycan highlights just how far Porsche is willing to go when a customer, or in this case, a creative partner, has a vision.

From the bespoke fabric development to the hundreds of hours invested in the paintwork, the Soho House One demonstrates that Sonderwunsch is about far more than ticking options on a configurator.

As Porsche likes to point out, Ferdinand Porsche built the first Porsche because he couldn’t find the sports car he wanted. Sonderwunsch essentially applies that philosophy to modern customers, allowing them to create the Porsche they wish existed.

Public Debut At Icons Of Porsche

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Soho House One makes its public debut at the Icons of Porsche: Sunstede Silverstone Edition on 20-21 June. Following its premiere, the one-off electric wagon will also appear at events including the Soho House Festival and the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this summer.
