Volvo Cars unveiled the new Volvo S90, featuring a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies and design updates.
The new S90 features a redesigned user interface, providing a safe and enjoyable way to interact with the infotainment system while being faster and more responsive than before. The latest, larger, free-standing central screen measures 11.2 inches, and over-the-air software updates ensure the car continues to evolve.
As a plug-in hybrid, the new S90 is an electric car with a plan B. It offers an all-electric range of up to 80 kilometres on a single charge under the WLTP test cycle, with more power available when needed. This means that many S90 drivers can conduct daily commutes with zero tailpipe emissions. Volvo Cars data shows that nearly half the range of Volvo’s latest plug-in hybrids is driven solely by electricity.
The S90 is also available as a mild hybrid. It is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, featuring front-wheel drive, and delivers impressive power and efficiency.
On the safety front, the new S90 features an advanced safety cage and a host of active safety features. The Pilot Assist function enables comfortable driving on multi-lane motorways and single-lane roads. In addition to maintaining a constant speed and adapting to slower vehicles, the car can follow the vehicle ahead and automatically brake to a standstill when needed in stop-and-go traffic. Pilot Assist also supports the driver by detecting lane markings and providing gentle steering assistance to help keep the car in its lane.
The new front and rear fascias have been designed to give the car a modern, fresh look. They have a streamlined design accentuated by sleek lines and a bolder, more attractive grille.
The front is flanked by Volvo’s signature Thor’s Hammer headlights. These updated headlights, with their slim design and lenses extending to the grille, feature new Matrix LED technology. They are designed to provide a wide, long light pattern for improved visibility in all conditions.
At the rear, the S90 features a new, sculpted hood, front bumper, and front wings. The S90 also offers improved sound insulation and an advanced adaptive suspension as standard, making it more comfortable than ever.
The Volvo S90 offers a wide range of exterior colours, including two new metallic colours: Aurora Silver and Raspberry Red. New diamond-cut alloy wheels are also available.
The new S90 will be available in our markets later this year.
