Manhart Makes The M3 Touring More Desirable

It’s called the MH3 650 Touring.

You were waiting for this one, weren’t you? A BMW M car doesn’t go unnoticed in Manhart’s world. And the German tuner would never make the first-ever M3 Touring an exception. What you see here is Manhart’s take on the M3 Touring. The spruced-up specimen is called the MH3 650 Touring. As expected, the changes go beyond the tweaked bodywork and the flashy paint job. The main attraction, as always with a Manhart, is the tuned-up powerplant and supporting mechanicals.

The tuner has equipped the M3 Touring’s 3.0-litre turbocharged heart with the Mhtronik control unit. Another addition is the rear silencer by Remus with four 100mm Manhart tailpipes and HJS Sport downpipes. As a result, the station wagon’s standard output of 510hp/650Nm shoots up to 650hp/800Nm. All that oomph goes to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. And although Manhart hasn’t mentioned it, the tuned version would leave the standard M3 Touring behind in an acceleration contest.

Teaming up with the tweaked engine are the adjustable H&R lowering springs and Manhart alloy wheels by Yido Performance, measuring 20 inches in diameter at the front (with 285/30ZR20 tyres) and 21 inches at the rear (with 305/25ZR21 tyres). The black rims sport a twin-spoke design with a baby blue accent. That’s the same colour as the one on the body shown here, which contrasts nicely with the wrapped roof.

The carbon look of the roof is complemented by Manhart’s radiator grille, M Performance winglets on the apron, attachments on the front fenders and the tuner’s side skirts. The car seen here already has BMW’s optional M Carbon exterior package, further enhanced by adding the bonnet and the spoiler lip from the M4 CSL.

Indoors, the main highlight is the customised headliner. That is fitted with LEDs to depict a starry sky. But since this is a tuned BMW M3 Touring, not many will spend much time checking out that feature.

The MH3 650 Touring is a tasty prospect. However, is it better than G-Power’s or dAHLer’s efforts on the BMW M3 Touring? What’s your take?
