Silence S04 EVs Start Leaving The Factory
It’s a two-seater urban runabout with a range of up to 149km.
Acciona, a global company that deals in renewable energy, water treatment and management, and eco-efficient transportation and mobility systems, has its own EV brand – Silence. The first Silence S04 EVs have started leaving the factory, which is located in Zona Franca, Barcelona. The facility spans over 60,000 sq.m. and carries out all the jobs from the vehicle’s chassis construction to painting the body. As for the batteries, they are currently being produced at the company’s plant near Sant Boi de Llobregat. However, that process will soon be shifted to the Zona Franca factory.
The Silence S04 EV is a two-seater urban runabout with a 247-litre boot space and a staggered seating arrangement. The first version – the L7e – comes with two batteries offering 19hp, enough for a top speed of 85kmph and a range of 149km. Later, the company will introduce an L6e derivative, which won’t require a driving license to be driven. That will have a single battery, a power output of 8hp and a top speed of 45kmph. Buyers also have the choice of buying the vehicle without a battery, which saves up to 40 per cent on the purchase price. In that case, buyers use the Battery Station service. Here, the driver can reach, swap the empty battery with a charged one and be on the way. This process, as per Silence, takes about 30 seconds.
