Flydubai To Lease Four Jets From Smartwings

The all-Economy Class aircraft will operate on select routes.

Dubai-based carrier flydubai has inked an agreement with Czechia’s Smartwings. According to the paperwork, the latter will wet lease four next-gen Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the former between October 17, 2023 and April 16, 2024. Besides the jets, the contract also covers crew, maintenance and insurance aspects. The four additional aeroplanes will bolster flydubai’s existing fleet of 79 Boeing 737s. That count includes 30 next-gen 737-800s, 46 737 MAX 8s and three 737 MAX 9s.

flydubai confirms that the all-Economy Class aircraft will operate on select routes, including Chattogram, Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi and Muscat. Passengers booked to travel on a flight operated by Smartwings will be notified before their departure date.
