Brabus has worked its magic on the Mercedes EQS

The German tuner has given the EV an aerokit that has been polished up in a wind tunnel

Brabus loves to play around with Mercedes but when the Merc in question is electric, then you might think that the tuner won’t be able to work its magic. Well, you’re wrong.

The clever people at Brabus have modified the EQS 450 and given it an aerodynamic kit which has been brought to perfection in the German tuner’s wind tunnel to make it even more sleek and reduce its already lowest drag coefficient of 0.20Cd by 7.2 percent.

Air deflector elements are present in the front and rear wheel arches to optimise airflow along with custom body parts made from carbon. Talking about the exterior, the front has a spoiler lip and the rear gets a diffuser to reduce aerodynamic lift.

All the geeky aero bits mean that Brabus’ EQS 450 boasts a boost in range of seven percent at speeds between 100 to 140 km/h.

And we haven’t even got to the best part of the mods: the monoblock wheels. These wheels on this car look like the perfect marriage between an old-school band and a new Ed Sheeran album. Brabus says that these 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” forged wheels and its SportXtra suspension technology give the EV “an unmistakable look and maximum strength.” Who are we to argue?

Further aero tinkering means that the EQS now hugs the ground more than the standard car by 15 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear.

As with all Brabuses, there are a host of leather options and interior customisations like a velour trunk mat available for the EQS.
