MG appoints Veyron-designer Jozef Kaban to lead global product design

MG celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and with it announces the arrival of acclaimed designer Jozef Kaban. Kaban joins the British-origin brand as the new Vice President at the company’s Global Design Centre, tasked to develop and advance the brand’s global design language. For the unaware, Kaban had solidified his reputation at just 25 years of age when he crafted the iconic Bugatti Veyron. Considered a design prodigy of the early 21st century, the designer went on to head design departments at the most reputed automakers such as Skoda, BMW, Rolls Royce, and Volkswagen whilst even holding the position of Exterior Chief Designer at Audi. Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor Middle East, commented: “Design is very important in customer purchase decisions. We are proud of MG’s design legacy. Our region has positively accepted MG’s new design philosophy, and we will keep on introducing more futuristic designs and technology in MG cars. Al-Futtaim Auto Centers launches aftersales service network for electrified cars, the UAE’s first

Al-Futtaim Automotive is dead set towards building a comprehensive e-mobility ecosystem in the UAE. Last year, the auto group launched the region’s first IMI-accredited Electric Mobility Training Centre to train EV-specific repair processes to mechanics. And now, Al-Futtaim aims to capitalise on this accredited EV training as it announces the launch of specialised maintenance and repair services for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles across its 18 facilities, also known as Al-Futtaim Auto Centers. With this, owners of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles of all makes and models can have maintenance, repairs and diagnostics performed by trained expert technicians at these Al-Futtaim Auto Centers. This new service launch cements Al-Futtaim Auto Centers as a one-stop solution destination for a wide range of automotive needs and establishes itself as the trusted mobility partner for EV enthusiasts across the UAE. OMODA & JAECOO launch three new electrified models at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show

Chinese carmaker OMODA & JAECOO celebrated its participation at the recently concluded 2024 Beijing Auto Show with the launch of three new models. OMODA launched its first pure electric model, the OMODA E5 whereas JAECOO unveiled new energy hybrid models, the J7 and J8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Additionally, the car brand announced the launch of the O-UNIVERSE “GREEN OJ” public welfare platform that reflects the brand’s commitment towards ecological environmental protection. The brand also boasts a portfolio of existing partnerships with a multitude of organizations, including IUCN, Indonesia’s Pandawara and New Zealand’s Keep New Zealand Beautiful to sustain the long-term growth of its global welfare footprint. On the brand growth front, OMODA & JAECOO has penetrated the global market at a rapid pace, entering key markets around the world and expanding its presence to more than 40 high-potential markets globally, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, in less than a year.

Jetour announces new model launches at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show

The 2024 Beijing Auto Show saw Chinese carmaker Jetour announce its plans to solidify its vision of ‘Travel+’ series of off-road-centric hybrid vehicles and collaborative strategies. The ‘Travel+’ range of vehicles already boasts T1 and T2 plug-in hybrid SUVs with 2024 slated to witness the arrival of the T5 SUV with an enhanced chassis and a 2.0-litre engine exclusively designed to work as a hybrid setup. The announcements further hinted towards the arrival of a seven-seater iteration and a four-wheel-drive derivative of its T2 SUV courtesy of public demand soon. Jetour aims to expand its off-road-centric product series with the launch of a T7 SUV with the ability to sail for up to 40 minutes on water with the same ease as it does on land. Going forward, Jetour will continue to offer a combination of traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models alongside advanced Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). Reflecting on the progress made by this new automaker, Ke ChuanDeng, Vice President of JETOUR Auto said, “With ‘One World, One JETOUR’ we have laid down in our ‘Travel+’ footprints across the globe, extending our reach through 600 sales and service networks in over 50 countries and regions.”
