Henry Jacques: Direct from the Late Sheikh Zayed’s Private Collection

• Henry Jacques has released three perfumes, all from the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed’s private collection. • Each comes as a duo set of Les Essences and Les Brumes. • The house’s Abu Dhabi boutique is the only place to buy them, for a limited time.

Which perfumes has Henry Jacques released?

Henry Jacques has brought Dar Zayed, Abu Dhabi and White Saffron out of its archives. Each one comes from the private collection of the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The house presents them to honour his legacy and its connection with him, the Founding Father of the UAE.

Each set pairs a 15 ml Les Essences with a 75 ml Les Brumes. Les Essences is the house’s intense format, while Les Brumes is its airier spray. The sets also come in a special box that honours Abu Dhabi.

What links Henry Jacques to the late Sheikh Zayed?

The UAE first fascinated the house’s founder, Henry Jacques Cremona, in the 1960s. Its architecture, heritage, deserts, mountains and palms left a lasting mark and inspired many creations. Over almost five decades, the house built its bond with the UAE by learning local traditions and scent culture.

The late Sheikh Zayed had a passion for authentic, bespoke perfumery, which led to a relationship with Henry Jacques. In time, the house created 64 fragrances for him. Some were for his personal collection, while others were gifts for those closest to him. In all, the house shipped more than 1,000 flacons to his Palace. The late Sheikh Zayed loved saffron, rose, jasmine, orange flower and oudh. Those notes also became part of the house’s own scent memory.

What does Henry Jacques Dar Zayed smell like?

Dar Zayed is a rich, woody perfume. It opens with saffron, a note the late Sheikh Zayed held dear, for a spicy start. Its deep heart then pairs myrrh and patchouli leaf with Cuvée Dehen el Oudh. Meanwhile, Damascena rose, the late Sheikh Zayed’s favourite, joins white musk and amber to soften that depth. The Dar Zayed set costs AED 19,145.

How do the Abu Dhabi and White Saffron perfumes smell?

Abu Dhabi takes its name from the city. Chamomile and Egyptian geranium give it a fresh, herbal opening, before leather, honey, and pine needle add richness. Tobacco, sandalwood, and cistus-labdanum then take over, leaving a warm, woody, ambery trail. The Abu Dhabi set costs AED 11,655.

Finally, White Saffron offers a brighter take on saffron. Here, the spice is the main note, and orange blossom adds freshness. Egyptian jasmine and Damascena rose form the heart, before ambergris and white musk leave a soft trail. The White Saffron set costs AED 10,270.
