Berluti Forestière jacket: How to get one in the UAE

• The Berluti Forestière gets its own space at 14 Rue de Sèvres in Paris, the address where it began. • Berluti has built the range around four lines, from an edition available only at Rue de Sèvres to full bespoke. • In the UAE, Berluti’s website sells ready-to-wear Forestière jackets and coats from AED 11,300.

What is new for the Berluti Forestière?

Berluti is dedicating a space to the Berluti Forestière inside its store at 14 Rue de Sèvres in Paris. The brand gives September 2026 as the start date. Nearly 80 years ago, the jacket’s story began at this same address, with the tailoring house Arnys. The new space traces that history, shows the craft behind the jacket and explores what it can become.

For many years, Rue de Sèvres was the only store that still carried the jacket. Clients kept coming back for new versions and old favourites, and that loyalty eventually prompted the move.

What is the Berluti Forestière?

The Berluti Forestière is a men’s jacket inspired by forest gamekeepers’ clothing. Berluti describes it as loose-fitting, with an officer’s collar. Other hallmarks include a soft shoulder, a generous armhole, and patch pockets. Unlike a traditional suit jacket, it feels relaxed rather than rigid.

Where did the Forestière come from?

Léon Grimbert founded Arnys on Paris’s Left Bank, at 14 Rue de Sèvres. In the late 1940s, Arnys designed the Forestière as a work jacket with a straight cut and generous proportions. Although its name evokes the forest, the jacket found its fame in Paris. Its easy shape won over Left Bank artists and thinkers. In the 1950s and 1960s, they made the black corduroy version their own.

In the 1980s, Jean Grimbert softened his father’s design. He dropped the epaulettes, widened the sleeves and eased the chest and waist. The jacket’s appeal also spread far beyond France, particularly to Japan, where collectors came to prize vintage Arnys pieces.

How has Berluti changed the Forestière?

In 2012, Berluti bought Arnys, gaining the Rue de Sèvres building, its first-floor bespoke workshop and its artisans. Berluti kept the jacket’s hallmarks but has since refined the cut. Its design studio narrowed the collar, rounded the front hem, and slightly lengthened the sleeves. Wearers can now roll up the sleeves to show the contrast lining.

Today the Forestière comes in cashmere, knit, linen, suede, tweed and more. A leather version carries Scritto, Berluti’s signature pattern. For Spring/Summer 2027, the design will also extend to a trench coat style.

How do you wear a Berluti Forestière?

The Berluti Forestière works alone as a statement jacket or with matching trousers as a relaxed alternative to a suit. It pairs as well with joggers and Berluti’s Shadow trainers as with smart tailored trousers. The jacket also moves from day to evening, and even onto the red carpet. For example, musician and composer Clément Ducol wore one at the Oscars in 2025.

What are the four Berluti Forestière lines?

Altogether, Berluti offers the jacket in four lines, each for a different taste:

  • Sèvres Edition: the original design, available only at Rue de Sèvres. Each year, the store’s team creates new versions with contrast cuffs and elbow patches.
  • Vestiaire Forestière: a contemporary line in new materials and colours. It also includes coats.
  • Made-to-Order: a suede line that Berluti launched to mark the new space, in 30 shades. Clients choose the leather, Scritto pattern, lining, and buttons.
  • Grande Mesure: full bespoke, with rare fabrics and complete customisation.

How long does a Grande Mesure Forestière take?

A Grande Mesure Forestière takes four fittings and 70 hours of work, over four to six months. During that time, artisans sew each one entirely by hand in the Rue de Sèvres workshop. It is one of Paris’s few remaining bespoke tailoring workshops, and former Arnys artisans still work there.

How can you get a Berluti Forestière in the UAE?

You can buy a ready-to-wear Berluti Forestière on the brand’s UAE website, though some sizes may be unavailable. In Dubai, Berluti’s store locator lists two stores at The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. Both offer special orders and Grande Mesure suit tailoring. However, neither store page mentions the Forestière, so contact them before you visit. Only the Rue de Sèvres store in Paris sells the Sèvres Edition.

How much does a Berluti Forestière cost in the UAE?

A ready-to-wear Berluti Forestière costs between AED 11,300 and AED 38,500 on Berluti’s UAE website, including taxes and duties. The range starts with the linen Ultra Leggera jacket, while a lambskin Corduroy Leather jacket sits at the top.
