Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas is on the way, though not soon. Accor announced the signing on 11 August 2026. The resort will open in 2031 in the Shivpuri Range, a quiet stretch of hill country on the edge of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. The opening sits five years out, so everything below is the plan as Accor has set it out at signing.
What is Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas?
It is a 220-room resort. The site covers about 16 acres, or roughly 6.5 hectares. It sits against the Himalayan foothills, close to the biodiverse landscape around the River Ganges.
Accor says the resort will celebrate the spirit of its surroundings. The spaces and the guest experiences will draw on the natural beauty of the region and on its cultural heritage.
What will Fairmont Rishikesh offer guests?
The resort will run four dining venues, a spa, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a kids’ club. It will also hold 3,000 square metres of event space. On top of that, Accor has promised a range of curated guest experiences.

Why is Rishikesh attracting luxury hotels?
Rishikesh has long been known as a hub for spirituality and wellbeing. Tourists come from all over the world for holistic experiences, yoga and meditation.
The town also connects well to Delhi NCR and other important markets. Because of that, it has become a popular choice for luxury leisure travel, staycations, adventure tourism, weddings and MICE events. Accor says demand for luxury hospitality across the Shivpuri and Rishikesh region keeps rising. The group also says the region still lacks branded luxury resorts, and Fairmont Rishikesh will help fill that gap.

How many Fairmont hotels are open in India?
Three, and four more are coming. Fairmont Jaipur opened first. It holds 245 guest rooms near Amber Road, blending Rajputana and Mughal architecture with modern comforts. Fairmont Mumbai followed in April 2025 with 446 rooms and an Art Deco design drawn from the 1920s. It carries 75,000 square feet of event space, or roughly 6,970 square metres, and gives a whole floor to wellness. Fairmont Udaipur Palace opened in July 2025 with 327 rooms on the Aravalli Hills.
Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra come next, and Rishikesh now joins them. Across India and South Asia, Accor runs 75 hotels under ten brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles. Ennismore represents the group in the lifestyle segment, and its first hotel in the region, Roswyn, opened recently in Mumbai.

Who is developing the resort?
Javi Group is developing the project through Javi Home Pvt. Ltd. The group is building a dedicated hospitality vertical, and this resort marks a milestone in that plan. Director Vibhor Jain said the location holds enormous long-term potential. He also said Fairmont’s tradition of luxury hospitality suits the area’s natural beauty, its spiritual past and its growing appeal to discerning tourists.
Ranju Alex, chief executive of Accor South Asia, called the signing a turning point for Fairmont’s growth in India. She described Rishikesh as one of the country’s most alluring luxury travel locations, where spirituality, wellness and immersive travel come together.
When will Fairmont Rishikesh open?
In 2031. Accor has named the year but not the month. By then, Accor wants the resort to stand as a landmark retreat in Uttarakhand. The group frames the finished offer around three things: relaxation, celebrations and memorable stays.
