BMW M4 50 Jahre Special edition launched

A limited-run special edition to celebrate BMW M’s 50th anniversary

A slew of performance cars appears to be on the pipeline from BMW this year, and for very evident reasons. 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of BMW’s M performance division, and to commemorate the same, the German carmaker has been on an all-out spree with its list of special edition launches. The year already saw the unveiling of the M3 CSL, the most aggressive M3 yet, and the next in line is a limited-edition 50 Jahre edition.

BMW M is offering an exclusive 500-unit-only 50 Jahre edition on the M4 Coupe, available only to customers from the Middle East and other select regions. For the first time in BMW’s history, the firm will be offering special Orbit Grey Matt and Gold Bronze matt paint finishes for the 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels on the M4 Jahre Edition. The special 50 Jahre edition brings back the signature colours used on M cars throughout BMW’s history: Carbon Black, Macao Blue, Brands Hatch Grey, Imola Red, and San Marino Blue.

The cabin of this special edition iteration gets door sill panels and a metal plaque on the central console bearing the special edition letterings. The seat headrests get the same corresponding imprints, and a unique seam imprint is made to run along the seat stitchings.

Mechanically, the car is identical to the standard version of the M4 Coupe. It retains the 510hp straight-six twin-turbo engine with the power being sent to the rear wheels or all four wheels via either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed M automatic ‘box, depending on the variant chosen.
