New Peugeot 408: Design, Features, Safety and Performance Details

The new Peugeot 408 keeps its fastback body, with updated exterior lighting, new interior technology, driver assistance, and a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline engine.

The new Peugeot 408 is a C-segment fastback that combines a low roofline with a high driving position and ample passenger space. In the Middle Eastern market, the car will be available in Allure and GT versions with different wheel designs, interior equipment, and technology.

The new 408 also brings several exterior changes, such as illuminated Peugeot lettering on the rear, an illuminated front logo on the GT version, and a Flare Green exterior colour option.

What exterior changes does the new Peugeot 408 receive?

The new 408 keeps its fastback design and gets some changes to the front and rear. The front now features a new grille and bumper with additional black design elements and new three-claw LED lighting. On the GT version, an illuminated Peugeot logo is placed between the front lights.

At the back, the 408 is the first Peugeot car in the lineup with illuminated Peugeot lettering. The lettering sits on a clear lens strip that runs across the rear and is framed by gloss-black trim.

Wheel designs vary between the two available trims. The Allure comes with 18-inch Detroit diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the GT gets 20-inch Monolith diamond-cut alloy wheels with a Matt Onyx Black finish.

Flare Green is the new exterior colour choice. The colour appears brighter in direct sunlight and darker in the shade, depending on the lighting conditions. Other exterior colours include Perla Nera Black, Selenium Grey, Okenite White, and Elixir Red.

What interior features are available?

The 408 comes with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit featuring a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a central 10-inch touchscreen display. The instrument display offers navigation, media, and driving info modes.
