Wimbledon 2023 (SF): Alcaraz dominates Medvedev and joins Djokovic in the final !

Dry victory for the Spaniard over the Russian (6-3, 6-3, 6-3)

After Djokovic’s impressive performance on Centre Court this afternoon, Alcaraz and Medvedev had to respond to the Serb in style. In the end, the Spaniard, world no. 1, prevailed and reached the Wimbledon final for the first time.

A 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 win over Daniil Medvedev is no mean feat. And “Carlitos” did it in just one hour and 50 minutes ! With the exception of the last set, when the Russian broke twice, Alcaraz didn’t concede a single break point on his serves in the first and second sets. That’s how solid he is. And this solidity is something the world number 1 will need on Sunday. Alcaraz will be playing in his second major final, and not just against anyone – his French Open tormentor, Novak Djokovic.

Mission impossible against the Djoker ?

Grand Slam tournaments come and go, and each time we wonder who can stop the Serb. Well, this year, no one has yet found the answer, and the Djoker seems to be heading for his 24th Grand Slam title. Wimbledon, moreover, has been something of a garden for him in recent years. And on this edition, he is clearing the competition from his London lawn with disconcerting ease. But in the second semi-final, Carlos Alcaraz decided to send a message to “Nole”, by also winning in three short sets, with style, against the 3rd-ranked player in the ATP rankings. On Sunday, it’ll be the world’s No. 1 Spaniard against the world’s No. 2, and the winner will be ranked No. 1. A clash not to be missed under any circumstances.
