The Mustang goes rallying! Mach E Rally revealed at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Want an EV that wants to go rallying? Ford has you covered with this special Mustang Mach E

The Ford Mustang Mach E you see above is not a concept. You can actually buy it. Meet the Mustang Mach E Rally – an EV SUV that wants to go off the beaten track. Ford’s Vice President of Electric Vehicle Programs says that with the Mach E Rally, the carmaker has given customers “the freedom to venture off the asphalt and beyond the beaten path.” This indicates that the Mach E Rally packs some serious off-road pedigree.

This Mustang Mach-E marks the first time the iconic nameplate has been associated with rallying. However, the Blue Oval is no stranger to rallying with Sebastian Ogier winning two world championships with the Fiesta WRC in 2017 and 2018.

No specifications for the Mustang Mach E Rally have been revealed. For now, we can gaze at the photos and examine how the Rally is different from the standard Mach E in terms of appearance.

First things first, the custom full body wrap with “Mach-E Rally” decals on the sides give it a stealthy look. Furthermore, we can see that the spruced up EV features a white Mustang logo-adorned rally-style roof spoiler on each side, a bespoke faux grille with two additional round lights, a red tow hook up front, white rally-style wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A tyres, and mud guards.

The Mach-E Rally’s interior resembles that of the Mach E-GT, with the exception of cream accents on the dashboard, steering wheel, and front seatbacks. It also has carbon fiber-like trim on the lower portion of the dashboard.

Want one? The Mustang Mach E Rally will go on sale in Europe and USA in autumn this year.
